Intelligent Image Analysis for Precise Fiber Length Measurements

The FASEP® analysis software is the core of the entire system. It performs the automatic detection, measurement, and evaluation of fibers and fiber clusters, delivering reproducible results in the shortest possible time.

Developed as an extension to the globally established Image‑Pro® image analysis platform, FASEP® is provided as a specialized add-in for automated fiber analysis. The current sixth-generation software is the result of more than 20 years of continuous development and technological innovation.

By combining the powerful infrastructure of Image‑Pro® with specially developed algorithms, FASEP® enables the resolution of fiber clusters, determination of fiber length distributions, and generation of meaningful analytical results. In addition, FASEP® integrates the entire analysis process within a single software environment. From material identification and image acquisition to measurement and automated report generation, all workflow steps are supported within one seamless process. This reduces operator effort, improves reproducibility, and significantly simplifies day-to-day laboratory work.

Powerful Software for Reliable Results

Whether for product development, material characterization, or quality assurance, FASEP® analysis software delivers fast, transparent, and reproducible results for professional fiber length analysis.

Designed for Demanding Fiber Analysis Applications

The software automatically detects fibers in grayscale images and measures both individual fibers and complex fiber clusters. Specialized algorithms reliably separate intertwined or overlapping fibers and accurately determine their lengths.

This enables efficient and reproducible analysis even for samples with high fiber densities.

From Fiber Image to Reliable Measurement Results.

High-Speed Processing Through Advanced Multi-Core Computing

FASEP® software fully utilizes the processing power of modern multi-core systems, enabling multiple images to be processed simultaneously.

Depending on the scope of the analysis, processing time for a dataset containing up to 12 images can be reduced to approximately two minutes. This significantly increases sample throughput compared to sequential analysis methods.

Full Transparency of Analysis Results

Automated analysis is only valuable when its results are transparent and verifiable.

That is why the measured fiber lengths can be displayed directly within the result image, allowing the quality of the analysis to be reviewed quickly and easily through visual inspection.

In addition, fibers can be color-coded according to their length. This makes the fiber length distribution visible directly within the image and enables rapid assessment at a glance.

Precision You Can Verify

Comprehensive Analysis and Configuration Options

The software provides a wide range of options to accommodate diverse analysis requirements:

  • Measurement of individual fibers and fiber clusters
  • Analysis of individual fibers only
  • Automated report generation
  • Individual reports for each image
  • Log file generation
  • Customizable analysis parameters
  • Flexible export options

This allows the software to be optimally adapted to laboratory standards, customer specifications, and specific testing requirements.

Software That Adapts to Your Processes, Not the Other Way Around

Precise Measurement Results

The accuracy of the analysis is based on the combination of high-quality image acquisition and powerful measurement algorithms.
At a typical scanning resolution of 2400 dpi, a single image pixel corresponds to approximately 10 µm, allowing even very short fibers to be detected and measured reliably.
In addition to fiber length, the software can also determine fiber widths for individual fibers. Various measurement methods are available and can be selected according to the specific application.

Precisely Measured. Reliably Evaluated.

Simple and Efficient Operation

The user interface has been designed specifically for everyday laboratory use.
Recurring analyses can be performed using the same parameters without requiring reconfiguration. Once set up, similar datasets can be processed with a single click. This significantly reduces operator effort and the potential for errors while ensuring a consistent and reproducible analysis workflow.

One Click. Thousands of Fibers. One Result.
